Tactical Reloads

Do you practice tactical reloads with your semi auto pistol? What I am talking about is reloading before the weapon goes dry when the time and opportunity presents itself.

Let’s say you are involved in a shooting situation and you have fired an unknown number of rounds and either you or the threat has gone behind cover. It’s really a good idea to perform a tactical reload so that you have a full magazine for the next situation.

There’s a couple of keys for a good tactical reload – you want the gun in operation as quickly as possible and you want a way to make sure you have access to the partially used magazine in case you need it.
